Changing targets for an FDA-certified analysis device

HPV (human pappiloma virus) is a sexually transmitted virus known to cause cervical cancer. Within an extremely short period of time, an analysis device for this virus needed to be developed, because competitors had already launched similar devices. Using agile software development methods (Scrum) and Test Driven Development (TDD), bbv was able to deliver high-quality software, thus achieving an ambitious goal – and allowing the customer to do the same.

Agile embedded software development in medical technology

On the basis of Embedded Linux and the Apparatus Framework, bbv has developed a control platform for tablet dedusting, deburring, and conveying. Consistently applying agile principles, bbv has managed to respond swiftly to customer needs.

Quality management under FDA guidelines

For Roche Diagnostics AG, bbv Software Service AG ensures software quality in various latest-generation devices in accordance with FDA regulations.

Integrated quality management environment in medical technology

Together with its customer, bbv has built a universal solution for invivo product quality management. From the requirements to the test cases all the way to the test results, there is clear retraceability. The Mercury Tool suite has been integrated with a test clamp in such a manner that all interrelated information items become available in a repository.
