Western Switzerland witnesses a marked increase in new high-tech companies. To host and support these start-ups, a number of infrastructure and professional bodies have emerged to finance, manage and advise new firms, often in exchange for equity shares. Several well-established technological parks are funded in part or in whole through public resources. These technological parks nurture and foster today’s fledgling businesses that will become tomorrow’s economic giants.
